Job Summary

The Purchase Head will be responsible for leading and implementing the company's overall procurement strategy across all fashion and lifestyle categories. This includes end-to-end vendor management, stock planning, cost optimization, and aligning inventory with business objectives such as margin targets, seasonal calendars, and customer preferences. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in fashion retail procurement with a deep understanding of multi-model sourcing, stock aging management, and vendor negotiation, and multi-store management.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or Supply Chain; MBA preferred

Min 15 + years of experience in retail or fashion procurement with category-specific buying experience, out of which minimum 5 – 6 years as a purchase head in a reputed retail chain.

Proven ability to manage BNS (Buy & Sell), SOR (Sale or Return), and SAS (Sell and Settle) procurement models

Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, purchase planning tools, and ERP systems

Analytical mindset with ability to derive insights from stock data, margin reports, and sell-through analysis

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and team management skills

Willingness to travel for vendor visits, trade fairs, and buying trips

Fluency in English and Hindi languages is preferred; knowledge of Telugu will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the procurement strategy and execution across all core categories (Menswear, Womenswear, Kidswear, Home Textiles, etc.)

•Develop seasonal and monthly purchase plans aligned with sales targets, budgets, and category performance goals

•Own margin targets, sell-through benchmarks, stock turnover norms, and stock aging controls and other KPIs

•Implement and standardize procurement models based on category feasibility and business objectives

•Develop and maintain strong vendor networks across India, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure timely deliveries

•Set and monitor KPIs for Category Purchase Managers, including performance-based incentive structures

•Collaborate with the retail, planning, finance, and merchandising teams to align purchase plans with stock flow and demand forecasts

•Identify slow-moving, dead, or aged inventory and coordinate liquidation strategies

•Approve and monitor vendor onboarding, product selections, assortment depth, and replenishment cycles

•Ensure timely documentation and compliance for all purchases including rate agreements, POs, GRNs, and settlements

•Work closely with the visual merchandising and marketing teams for special campaigns and offer-driven buys

•Present monthly purchase dashboards to leadership, highlighting key insights, stock health, and procurement gaps

•Continuously identify process improvements to optimize procurement timelines, costs, and vendor SLAs

•Lead and supervise the purchase team

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
