Purchase Executive

Job Summary: The Purchase Executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, tools, and services required for fabrication operations. The role involves vendor management, maintaining inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery, and supporting cost-effective procurement aligned with production needs. Key Responsibilities: Source and procure raw materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, welding consumables) and other items required for fabrication. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines. Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms. Issue purchase orders and follow up for timely delivery and order status. Coordinate with the production and planning departments to forecast material requirements. Maintain and update procurement records, pricing, and inventory in ERP systems. Track inventory levels and initiate reorders to prevent stockouts or overstocking. Conduct regular supplier evaluations and maintain strong supplier relationships. Handle procurement documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and industry standards. Assist in cost reduction initiatives and support audits and quality inspections. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the fabrication or manufacturing industry. Knowledge of fabrication materials and technical specifications is preferred. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle). Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Desirable Skills: Understanding of vendor development and strategic sourcing. Familiarity with ISO procedures and quality standards in manufacturing. Ability to read technical drawings and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
