We work with companies like Google, AWS, Microsoft, VMware, Meta and Coursera to create their education programmes. Most programmes that we develop include hand-on labs to support the learner in their journey towards mastery of their new subjects


The Project Manager role is central to the success of Google Cloud’s partner learning strategic and key programs and initiatives, requiring a strong emphasis on both Program Management and Project Management within their day-to-day activities. This involves not only managing individual enablement projects for partners but also contributing to the operational direction, rigour, efficiencies and continuous improvement of all programs.


Role Description

The Project Manager is a pivotal role, holding primary accountability for the end-to-end program and project management of all key programs in the partner learning team. This role demands a strong blend of strategic program oversight and meticulous project execution, ensuring the successful delivery and measurable impact of enablement efforts for Google Cloud partners.


The Project Manager will be focused on managing project lifecycles from initiation to completion, ensuring projects meet objectives, scope, time, and budget constraints. Key responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, executing projects using agile principles and sprints, coordinating cross-functional teams and resources, managing risks, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality deliverables.


The Project Manager is responsible for orchestrating extensive collaboration with Google Cloud partner delivery leaders and teams alongside various internal Google teams to drive partner capability enhancement and project delivery success.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Strategic Initiation and project planning leadership
  • Execution oversight and risk mitigation
  • Strategic collaboration, continuous program improvement, and stakeholder management
  • Continuous improvement and iterative delivery
  • Drive identification, collection, and tracking of key metrics for program or project impact, including program/project participation and success, leveraging metrics to drive results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and/or key stakeholders to understand or identify work problems and project goals, deliver prioritized projects, and demonstrate cross-function project impact.
  • Drive the development of project/program roadmaps and use them to manage stakeholder expectations, as well as for communicating plans and coordinating resources.
  • Drive development of interpretable insights from deep dives and data analysis, provide data-driven strategic recommendations that represent projects/programs from relevant business, product, and technical perspectives to cross-functional stakeholders at a variety of levels.
  • Develop and/or drive the development of project documentation that defines solution scope, solution design, task-level deliverables, milestones, and management processes to ensure stakeholder accountability.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The success of a partner learning Project Manager will be directly measured by their effectiveness in delivering large-scale, complex projects on time. Another key metric will be time to plan creation (turnaround time): a key project management metric reflecting efficiency from requirements gathering to plan finalization.


Expected high-level skills and experience (At least 7 years):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong Program and Project Management experience in matrix organizations
  • PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Extensive experience in implementing Agile principles
  • Ability to deliver complex cross-functional projects by collaborating effectively & influencing team members and stakeholders
  • Advanced consultative skills
  • Stakeholder Management in a matrix environment
  • Change Management and Problem Solving amidst ambiguity - ability to navigate through process ambiguity and organizational complexities.
  • Strategic thinking (i.e. well-rounded learning plan rather than just chasing numbers)
  • Data Analytics - ability to dig into trends and forecast
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent executive communication skills, both written and oral
  • Tact and persuasive ability
  • Highly collaborative across various business functions
  • Experience working with a tech organization (i.e. Partner)
  • Google Cloud Cloud Digital Leader and Generative AI Leader certification preferred
