Brief Job Overview

The Program Manager is an individual contributor role that supports leaders in USP’s science division to plan, coordinate and ensure completion of projects and standards on time within budget and within scope. Working in a global, matrix environment, the role will actively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Divisions at all organizational levels within a governance structure to develop, implement and manage a synchronized operational production plan. In this role the incumbent will balance routine program management work with cross-functional business process development and new capability building responsibilities.

Who is USP Looking For?

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:

Experience required:

  • Master’s degree in a science-based discipline or relevant field with MBA degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, preferred to have a life science industry or healthcare environment, managing multiple, complex programs background. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Proficient experience in using the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, PowerPoint Designer with virtual presentation skills
  • Preferred Experience using data analytical platforms (e.g. Tableau, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite such as Illustrator and photoshop, etc.)and with MS Project and other project management software
  • The candidate should have good written and communication skills in the English language with a focus on scientific writing for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to distill project information and complexities into actions and meaningful outcomes
  • Organized & results - oriented with strong time management, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and a desire to work well with diverse employees in a cooperative and friendly manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams within a global governance

Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to mobilize stakeholders to results at all organizational levels

Additional Desired Preferences

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI PMP or other project management certifications
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced multi-task environment.
  • Ability to build effective work relationships quickly and work collaboratively in a global setting both internally and externally.
  • High comfort with navigating through ambiguity and frequent change, and course-adjusting in the moment.
  • High business acumen abilities - can understand and deliver on business objectives
  • The ability to influence without direct authority.
