Job Description

Role Title:


Education Qualification:


Years of Experience:

  1. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in production planning, vendor development in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the SS vessel/platform or heavy engineering industry.
  2. Proven experience in vendor selection.
  3. Strong knowledge of SS vessel and platform manufacturing processes, including welding, fabrication, and polishing techniques.


Accountable & Responsible For:


1. Production Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop and manage detailed production schedules for SS vessel and platform manufacturing, ensuring all deadlines are met while optimizing resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient use of labor, equipment, and raw materials.
  • Track and report on production progress, delays, and deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams to incorporate changes in specifications or timelines into the production schedule.

2. Vendor Development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with key vendors and suppliers of raw materials, components, and services related to SS vessel and platform manufacturing.
  • Suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations based on delivery timelines, product quality, and responsiveness.
  • Develop and implement a vendor selection process, ensuring that all vendors meet industry standards and compliance regulations (BPE, ASME, etc.).
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with vendors, ensuring continuous and smooth procurement operations.

3. Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure that materials and components from vendors meet required quality standards and comply with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with the quality control team to perform regular inspections of incoming materials and components, including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), dimensional checks, and pressure testing.
  • Manage the documentation of inspection reports, Certificates of Compliance (COC), and Inspection Test Reports (ITR).

4. Continuous Improvement and Cost Control:

  • Propose and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Evaluate new technologies, tools, or methods that can enhance production and vendor performance.
  • Maintain cost tracking systems to ensure production stays within budget while meeting quality and timeline requirements.


Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, BPE).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) .
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of quality control systems and testing methods used in SS vessel/platform manufacturing.
