Job Profile Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager – Automation Software with expertise in PLC programming, SCADA development, and industrial automation software solutions . The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of Siemens and Rockwell automation platforms , including experience with SIMATIC BATCH and FactoryTalk Batch, TIA Portal, WinCC, Studio5000, Factory Talk SE/ME platform. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills for automation software and a solid understanding of industrial networking and proficiency in designing redundant automation systems to ensure high availability and reliability. Education: B.E./B. Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field Years of Experience: 12-15 yrs Key Responsibilities: 1. Automation Software Development & Programming Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and HMI applications. Work extensively on Siemens (TIA Portal, WinCC, PCS7, Simatic Batch) and Rockwell (RS Logix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, FT Batch) platforms. Implement batch processing solutions using SIMATIC BATCH and FactoryTalk Batch for process automation. Ensure seamless data exchange and integration between PLCs, SCADA, MES, and databases. 2.Troubleshooting & System Optimization Diagnose and resolve software-related issues in automation systems. Perform root cause analysis for PLC/SCADA faults, communication failures, and network issues . Optimize existing automation solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance. 3. Industrial Networking & System Integration Design and configure Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA , Profibus communication protocols. Ensure reliable and secure connectivity between PLCs, SCADA, MES, and enterprise systems. Work with IT/OT teams to harden network security and ensure compliance with industry standards. 4. Leadership & Project Management Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers in software development and troubleshooting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Process, IT) to execute projects. Define standards, templates, and best practices for industrial automation software. Manage project timelines, budgets, and customer expectations for automation solutions. Key Skills & Competencies: 1.Expertise in PLC & SCADA Development Siemens: TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC, PCS7, Simatic Batch Rockwell: Studio 5000, RS Logix, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, FT Batch 2.Batch Processing & MES Integration Strong understanding of ISA-88 batches process automation Experience integrating SCADA, MES, and ERP systems 3.Industrial Networking & Communication Protocols Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, MQTT IT/OT network security, VLANs, firewall configurations 4.Software Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Hands-on experience in debugging PLC/SCADA applications Proficiency in analyzing log files, alarms, and real-time data 5.Leadership & Team Management Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and mentor engineers Strong communication skills for technical discussions with clients, vendors, and stakeholders 6.Redundant System Development & High Availability Design and implement redundant PLC, SCADA, and network architectures to ensure system reliability. Configure and maintain redundant servers, controllers, and communication networks for failover protection. Ensure proper synchronization of redundant automation systems in critical process applications. Preferred Experience: Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Food & Beverage industry with CFR part 11 compliance experience is a plus Knowledge of cloud-based SCADA, IoT, and Industry 4.0 is advantageous Experience in SQL databases and industrial data logging solutions Hands on experience on Siemens & Rockwell platform.
