Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. Production & Operations Plan, organize, and control daily manufacturing activities Ensure achievement of production targets as per schedule Monitor machine utilization, downtime, and productivity Coordinate with planning and dispatch teams for timely delivery 2. Manpower Management Supervise supervisors, engineers, operators, and contract labor Allocate manpower effectively across shifts Ensure discipline, attendance, and performance of staff Coordinate with HR for hiring, training, and manpower planning 3. Quality Control Ensure products meet company and customer quality standards Implement quality improvement and corrective action processes Coordinate with QC/QA department to reduce rejection and rework 4. Maintenance & Utilities Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines Coordinate with maintenance team for minimum downtime Monitor utilities like power, water, compressors, etc. 5. Safety, Health & Compliance Ensure plant safety norms and statutory compliance Implement SOPs, work instructions, and safety practices Conduct safety training and audits regularly Ensure compliance with Factory Act, labor laws, and environmental norms 6. Cost Control & Inventory Control manufacturing costs and wastage Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory Reduce scrap, rejections, and operational losses 7. Continuous Improvement Implement productivity improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean) Improve process efficiency and output quality Drive continuous improvement culture in the plant 8. Reporting & Coordination Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports Coordinate with purchase, stores, QC, HR, and accounts Report plant performance to top management Education & ExperienceB.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related field 8–15 years of experience in manufacturing industry Minimum 3–5 years in a plant leadership role Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and people management skills Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery Good understanding of safety and quality systems Problem-solving and decision-making ability Strong communication and coordination skills ERP/MIS reporting knowledge preferred Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Production target achievement Quality rejection & rework percentage Machine downtime Cost control & wastage reduction Safety incidents On-time delivery
