Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Factory Manager to oversee operations at our wood manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring optimal production efficiency, maintaining safety standards, overseeing quality control, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. This position requires a strong leader who can balance operational efficiency, quality, and employee satisfaction in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Oversee and manage all manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient production of wood products (e.g., wardrobes, Kitchen, Storage Cabinets and panels). Ensure production schedules are met, and orders are delivered on time. Optimize production workflows, equipment utilization, and employee productivity. Monitor production output and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring smooth production processes. Ensure the safe and proper use of all machinery and equipment. Quality Control and Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control standards in all areas of production. Monitor and evaluate product quality to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications. Coordinate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve any quality-related issues. Continuously improve quality assurance procedures to minimize defects and rework. Team Management and Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate factory staff to achieve production goals and maintain high performance standards. Schedule and allocate work, ensuring the right resources are in place for each shift and project. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for employee development. Foster a positive working environment with open communication and teamwork. Promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations and protocols. Inventory and Materials Management: Ensure that raw materials and finished goods are appropriately stored and maintained to prevent waste and ensure efficiency. Collaborate with the procurement team to maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring timely availability of materials for production. Track inventory and material usage to minimize losses, wastage, and excess stock. Maintenance and Equipment Management: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all factory equipment to minimize downtime. Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition. Oversee repairs and coordinate with external service providers as necessary. Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure the factory adheres to all health and safety regulations, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Conduct regular safety training and drills to minimize the risk of accidents. Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements in the manufacturing process. Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency. Regularly analyze production processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. Keep up to date with industry best practices and technological innovations in wood manufacturing. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, inventory, staffing, and quality control to senior management. Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records and other related documentation. Provide insights and recommendations based on production data and performance analysis. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (a degree in wood science or a similar discipline is a plus). Proven experience (5+ years) in handling Machinery like Beam saw, EDGE BEADING machine, Cold press, CNC router machine etc. as a Factory Manager, Production Manager, or similar role in the Interior manufacturing industry or a related field. Strong knowledge of wood manufacturing processes, machinery, and techniques. Experience with production planning, quality control, and inventory management. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies. Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Personal Attributes: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities. High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and excellence. A proactive and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively. Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
