Job Description and Person Specifications – Head Placements 1. Job Details Job Title Head Placements Reporting to 2. Key Accountability 1.Develop and implement a comprehensive placement strategy aligned with the university’s goals. 2.Analyze market trends and student feedback to identify placement opportunities and areas for improvement. 3.Build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of employers, including multinational corporations, startups, and local businesses. 4.Organize recruitment drives, career fairs, and networking events to connect students with employers. 5.Provide guidance to students on resume writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies. 6.Conduct workshops and seminars to enhance students’ employability skills. 7.Work closely with academic departments to understand the skills and competencies required by industries. 8.Collaborate with alumni to leverage their networks for placement opportunities. 9.Track placement statistics and maintain a database of job openings and placements. 10.Prepare and present regular reports to university leadership on placement activities, outcomes, and trends. 11.Lead and mentor a team of placement officers and support staff. 12.Foster a positive and collaborative team environment focused on student success. 13.Establish and enforce policies related to placements and internships. 14.Ensure compliance with university policies and relevant employment regulations. 15.Gather feedback from students and employers to improve placement processes. 16.Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in career services. 3. Person Specification 1.Education: Master’s degree in a related field. A PhD or equivalent experience in academia is a plus. 2.Experience: Minimum of 10- 15 years with experience in placement services, career counseling, preferably within a higher education environment. 3.Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 4.Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. 5.Excellent organizational and leadership skills. 6.Proficiency in using placement management software and tools.
