About The Role
We are seeking an experienced PHP Software Engineer specializing in Laravel to join our development team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications that are scalable, efficient, and secure. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, designers, and project managers, to deliver seamless and robust backend solutions. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in object-oriented PHP and Laravel frameworks, along with a passion for coding best practices and innovative problem-solving. As a key member of our technical team, you will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support, ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-performance web applications that meet our clients’ needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in PHP development with a focus on Laravel framework, particularly versions 5 through 8.
- Strong expertise in object-oriented PHP programming and MVC architecture.
- Proficiency in designing and optimizing MySQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and indexing.
- Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to facilitate seamless integration with backend systems.
- Deep understanding of REST API design principles, SOLID principles, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with software testing frameworks including PHPUnit, PHPSpec, or Behat to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Knowledge of API lifecycle management, data services, and third-party integrations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively in remote and diverse team environments.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to document technical processes clearly and concisely.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, website specifications, and application needs to develop effective backend solutions.
- Design and develop optimized backend portals with efficient database integration to support business operations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve existing application issues to ensure high system availability and performance.
- Integrate APIs, databases, and external services seamlessly into web applications to enhance functionality.
- Ensure consistent code quality across the frontend and backend by adhering to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript standards.
- Develop, document, and maintain high-performance Laravel-based web applications, ensuring scalability and security.
- Build and test new API endpoints, refactor existing routes, and improve system scalability and performance.
- Lead the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to deployment and post-launch support.
- Conduct unit testing and maintain testing standards using frameworks such as PHPUnit, PHPSpec, or Behat.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers and front-end developers to integrate user interfaces with backend logic effectively.
- Document development processes, system architecture, and standard components for future reference and team knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in web development and API integration to continuously improve skills and project outcomes.
