Job Description The role of a Payroll Operations Associate is critical within the finance department of any organization. This position is designed for individuals who possess meticulous attention to detail and the capability to handle sensitive financial data efficiently. As a Payroll Operations Associate, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for company employees, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. You will collaborate closely with other HR and finance professionals to execute payroll operations and address any inquiries or discrepancies regarding employee compensation. This role not only demands mathematical proficiency but also requires strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of payroll systems and software. Being in this role, one must be adept at multitasking and adhering to strict deadlines to ensure all payroll functions are performed smoothly without impacting business operations. Responsibilities Process and execute regular payroll cycles with accuracy and confidentiality. Coordinate with HR to ensure employee records are current and complete. Review payroll inputs and outputs to ascertain precise employee payment calculations. Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions in compliance with regulatory mandates. Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information appropriately. Ensure proper deductions and withholdings are applied as per laws and employee agreements. Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and relevant departments. Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits concerns. Update payroll data regularly to maintain current employee compensation data. Assist with payroll audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation. Manage sensitive data with confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations. Stay informed on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary updates. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience working in payroll or a similar role. Strong understanding of payroll processes and relevant legislation. Proficient with payroll software systems and Microsoft Office Suite applications. Excellent numerical skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for clarity in responses. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.
