Job Summary
The Project Head – Outreach Program is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the vision, integrity, and impact of the organization’s educational initiatives across tribal and underserved regions. As the organization enters a phase of consolidation, this role demands a systems-focused, quality-oriented professional who can elevate existing programs through process refinement, outcome-based evaluations, and meaningful stakeholder partnerships.
The ideal candidate will lead with compassion, operate with precision, and inspire a culture of excellence across a 60+ member team and a portfolio of 7 community education projects.
Educational Qualifications
Essential: Postgraduate degree or equivalent in Education, Rural Development, or related field
Preferred: Certifications in Project Management, Quality Systems (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma), Education Leadership, or Social Impact Evaluation
Experience
Total: Minimum 8 years of professional experience
Relevant:
5+ years in educational outreach, program management, or social sector leadership
Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, process audits, and impact evaluation
Experience working with government stakeholders, educational institutions, or non-profits is highly valued
Core Responsibilities (KRAs)
1. Program Consolidation & Quality Enhancement
Strengthen and systematize 7 ongoing outreach projects to ensure consistency and quality of delivery across 250+ schools
Develop and institutionalize standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality checklists, and review frameworks
Shift focus from numerical growth to depth of impact, sustainability, and beneficiary satisfaction
2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Establish clear performance metrics for each project (Pre-Vocational, Vocational, Magic Touch, Udyam, Unnati, Urja, Teacher Training)
Oversee creation of monthly dashboards, field logs, impact stories, and MIS reports for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure data integrity and prepare for periodic third-party evaluations or donor audits
3. Team Capacity Building & Leadership
Mentor and lead a team of 60+ members including coordinators, trainers, and field officers
Identify gaps in field delivery, create upskilling plans, and conduct regular field observations and performance reviews
Promote a culture of ownership, empathy, and excellence across all levels of the Outreach team
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
Maintain strong relationships with school leadership, DIET/DEO officials, and community representatives
Coordinate with external agencies for trainings, knowledge exchange, and infrastructure collaborations
Represent the organization in district- and state-level education forums, fairs, and policy dialogues
5. Systems Development & Process Audits
Design and deploy review mechanisms, feedback loops, and compliance trackers
Conduct regular process audits to identify bottlenecks and enhance operational efficiency
Introduce digitization and workflow tools to reduce manual dependencies
6. Special Initiatives & Institutional Events
Oversee planning and execution of institutional events such as science fairs, residential teacher training programs, community outreach drives, and milestone celebrations
Ensure alignment with organizational values and create high-quality documentation (videos, reports, presentations) for impact communication
