Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

The Operations Manager will assume full P&L ownership of the manufacturing unit, ensuring operational efficiencies align with financial targets. The role demands exhaustive oversight across the following domains:


1. Production Monitoring & Operational Excellence

  • Production Output:

    Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production targets, meticulously tracking slab size, thickness, and color variations.
  • Material Inventory:

    Oversee the quantity, quality, and usage efficiency of raw materials (quartz, resin, pigments) to prevent stockouts and overages.
  • Machine Efficiency:

    Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), tracking uptime, downtime, and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks.
  • Labor Productivity:

    Analyze workforce efficiency through output-per-labor-hour metrics and manage overtime costs effectively.
  • Yield & Waste Management:

    rigorous tracking of production yield and scrap rates; conducting root-cause analysis to minimize waste.


2. Financial Performance & Controllership

  • Cost Management:

    Monitor direct and indirect production costs, including labor, raw materials, energy, and overheads.
  • Profitability Analysis:

    Analyze Gross and Net Profit margins by product line and customer segment to assess business performance.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    Lead the annual budgeting process, forecast sales vs. production, and perform detailed variance analysis.
  • Sales & Revenue:

    Track sales volume, revenue realization, and average selling price trends.

3. Inventory Management

  • Stock Control:

    Monitor Finished Goods inventory (by quantity, size, color, location) and Work-in-Progress (WIP) status to optimize flow.
  • Capital Efficiency:

    Calculate and optimize Inventory Turnover Ratios to ensure efficient working capital management.


4. Quality & Energy Management

  • Quality Assurance:

    Monitor defect rates, rework percentages, and customer complaints to implement corrective actions (CAPA).
  • Compliance:

    Maintain records of product certifications and ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Energy Efficiency:

    Track energy consumption by equipment and facility, implementing initiatives to reduce cost and carbon footprint.


5. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & Analytics

  • Order Fulfillment:

    Track customer orders and delivery timelines to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Data Visualization:

    Utilize dashboards (PowerBI/ERP) to present Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in actionable formats for senior leadership.


Monitoring Framework & Reporting Cadence

The successful candidate will implement and maintain the following reporting structure:

  • Daily Checkpoints:

    Production output (by specification), Machine efficiency (uptime/downtime), Labor productivity, Quality control (defects/rework), Raw material consumption, and Daily Energy usage.
  • Weekly Reviews:

    OEE analysis, Detailed scrap reason analysis, Inventory turnover ratios, Production plan vs. Actuals, and Weekly P&L estimations.
  • Monthly Strategic Reviews:

    Capacity utilization, Machine breakdown analysis, Budget vs. Actual performance, P&L closure, Sales forecast accuracy, and Safety incident analysis.


Candidate Profile

  • Professional Experience:

    Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in

    General Management or Plant Operations

    , preferably within the Engineered Stone, Ceramics, or Heavy Manufacturing sectors.
  • Educational Qualifications:

  • Essential:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related operational field.
  • Highly Preferred:

    Professional financial qualification (

    Chartered Accountant / CMA / MBA Finance

    ) combined with hands-on industrial experience.
  • Core Competencies:

    Strong command of Unit Economics, Inventory Management, ERP Systems, and Data Security protocols.
