Role Summary
The OBIEE Administrator is responsible for administering, configuring, and supporting Oracle Business Intelligence environments, ensuring reliable report provisioning, data security, and efficient user access management. This role partners with business teams, data owners, and IT to maintain a robust BI platform that supports analytical and reporting needs across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- OBIEE Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Business Intelligence components (OBIEE, WebLogic, RPD, BI Publisher).
- Manage OBIEE server performance, patching, upgrades, and environment migrations (Dev → Test → Prod).
- Monitor system health, logs, and performance metrics; troubleshoot errors and optimize queries.
- Reports Provisioning & Content Management
- Create, schedule, and maintain OBIEE analyses, dashboards, and BI Publisher reports.
- Work with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into OBIEE reports.
- Manage report lifecycle—development, testing, deployment, and retirement.
- Validate data accuracy in reports and ensure alignment with enterprise definitions and KPIs.
- Coordinate new subject area rollouts and enhancements to existing reporting datasets.
- Access Control & Security Administration
- Administer OBIEE security including users, roles, groups, and application policies.
- Configure row-level and object-level security within RPD and Presentation Services.
- Manage access provisioning, deprovisioning, and periodic access reviews.
- Enforce least-privilege principles and audit-reporting compliance requirements.
- Configure and manage OBIEE security (roles, groups, permissions).
- Implement secure connection setups (LDAP, SSO, Active Directory integration).
- RPD (Repository) Management
- Develop and maintain OBIEE RPD including Physical, Business Model, and Presentation layers.
- Integrate new data sources and subject areas as required.
- Perform consistency checks, patch merges, version control, and deployments.
- Follow change management procedures for RPD updates and report releases.
- Ensure compliance with organizational data governance and audit requirements.
- Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide L2/L3 support for report failures, dashboard issues, and data discrepancies.
- Investigate performance problems and tune queries, cache, and BI Server configurations.
- Assist users with navigation, report creation, and analytics best practices.
- Work with data engineering teams to ensure smooth data pipelines feeding OBIEE.
Qualifications & Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with OBIEE (11g/12c) administration and RPD development.
- Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and Oracle databases.
- Hands-on experience with WebLogic Server, Enterprise Manager, and catalog management.
- Experience integrating OBIEE with LDAP/AD/SSO for access control.
- Knowledge of BI Publisher and scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and tools (ODI, Informatica, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OAC/OAS (Oracle Analytics Cloud/Server) is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (OCI/Azure/AWS) is a plus.
- Prior experience in data governance or security auditing.
Oracle BI certifications.
