Job Summary: The Networking Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures high performance, reliability, and security of LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi/WAN connectivity, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support robust operations. Key Responsibilities: Network Design & Deployment: Create scalable, redundant, and secure network solutions (LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN), installing/configuring routers, switches, firewalls, load‑balancers, and network services (e.g., DHCP, DNS). Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use network monitoring tools to track performance, diagnose connectivity issues, and reduce downtime through root-cause analysis. Maintenance & Upgrades: Perform software/firmware updates, patches, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal network performance and security. Security & Compliance: Implement firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, encryption, and access control; enforce security policies in collaboration with cybersecurity teams. Capacity Planning: Analyze traffic patterns, plan for future network growth, and perform performance tuning and QoS configuration. Documentation & Change Management: Maintain network diagrams, configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and change logs. Collaboration & Support: Work with IT, security, and external vendors; provide 2nd/3rd level support and training to team members. Project Execution: Lead network projects like new deployments, upgrades, and cloud or hybrid infrastructure implementations with minimal impact on operations. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with emerging network technologies such as SDN, cloud networks, automation, and AI-driven monitoring. Requirements & Qualifications: Academic & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP), CompTIA Network+, JNCIA or higher; CCIE preferred for advanced roles. Technical Skills Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, QoS Network Devices: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet; routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers. Tools: SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark, packet analyzers. Cloud & Virtualization: AWS/Azure/GCP networking, SD-WAN, hybrid cloud, VMware/Hyper-V Scripting & Automation: Python, Ansible, SDN, IaC for network orchestration. Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills Project management, organizational skills, and ability to operate in fast-paced environments Proactiveness in learning industry trends, new technologies, and security best practices Experience Guidelines: 2+ years in IT networking roles (network admin, support, engineering), or equivalent project experience Solid track record configuring enterprise-grade networks, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering network projects.
