Job Description

The MIS Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's information systems, ensuring the effective use of technology to meet business goals, and managing the MIS team. The role includes system analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of information systems to support operational, tactical, and strategic needs. Key Responsibilities: System Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization's information systems and databases. Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop, implement, and maintain MIS reports to support business operations. Analyze data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making. Technology Strategy: Work with senior management to identify and implement IT strategies that align with business objectives. Recommend technology solutions to improve efficiency and productivity. Project Management: Lead and manage MIS-related projects, including system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Team Management: Supervise and mentor MIS staff, providing guidance on best practices, professional development, and performance management. Security & Compliance: Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements related to information systems. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and issue resolution. User Support: Provide technical support and training to end-users to ensure effective use of information systems. Address user issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus. Experience: 5+ years of experience in MIS or IT management roles, with a proven track record of managing information systems and leading teams. Technical Skills: Proficiency in database management, SQL, ERP systems, business intelligence tools, and other relevant software. Knowledge of system architecture, networks, and IT security. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience in project management and strategic planning. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Work Environment: The role typically involves working in an office environment, with occasional travel to other company locations or to meet with vendors. May require occasional after-hours work to support system upgrades, troubleshooting, or other critical tasks.
