Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Merchandiser with strong communication and negotiation skills to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in the fashion & lifestyle industry. Hands-on experience in coordinating with multiple vendors, production follow-ups, and product development. Proficiency in Excel & Google Sheets is essential. The role demands adaptability, a learning mindset, and a willingness to travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Management & Negotiation

• Identify, evaluate, and manage vendor relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms
• Ensure vendor compliance with quality, timelines, and specifications

Product Development & Sampling

• Work closely with design and production teams for sampling & prototyping
• Track sample development and communicate feedback for revisions
• Maintain accurate sample records and approvals

Production Follow-ups

• Oversee production timelines and ensure timely deliveries
• Coordinate with vendors for order execution, quality checks, and dispatches
• Troubleshoot delays or issues proactively

Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain detailed trackers in Excel/Google Sheets (including advanced formulas)
• Generate reports on vendor performance, costing, order status, etc.
• Analyze data for cost savings and process improvements

Communication & Coordination

• Act as the point of contact between internal teams (design, QC, logistics) and vendors
• Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal formats
• Schedule and document meetings, calls, and follow-ups effectively

Travel & Market Research

• Willingness to travel for vendor visits, production checks, trade shows, etc.
• Stay updated with industry trends and materials

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field
• 1-5 years of experience in merchandising
• Proven experience in vendor handling, production follow-ups, and sampling
• Strong command over MS Excel and Google Sheets (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.)
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable
• Comfortable with frequent travel
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
