Linga Group, a diversified conglomerate based in Coimbatore, is seeking a strategic and experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of our company's fleet and logistics operations, supporting our various business units.

Transport Manager

About the Role:

As the Transport Manager, you'll be the backbone of our transportation and logistics framework. You will be responsible for the efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of our premium vehicle fleet (including Innova, EcoSport, Fortuner, Benz and Bolero, Bull and Ajax vechile) and the supervision of our driving team. Your leadership will ensure seamless ground operations, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of safety and service for the transport of our management, clients, and assets.

Responsibilities:

• Fleet Management: Oversee the entire company fleet, including procurement, registration, scheduling, allocation, and eventual disposal of vehicles to ensure optimal utilization and minimal downtime.
• Maintenance & Compliance: Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance schedule for all vehicles. Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and national transport and safety regulations and mandatory documentation.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, supervise, and manage the team of company drivers. Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs focused on safety, efficiency, and professional customer service.
• Logistics & Route Optimization: Design and implement efficient routing and scheduling strategies for executive travel and operational movements, utilizing GPS/telematics data to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Budget & Cost Control: Manage the transport department budget, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and other expenses to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
• Safety & Risk Management: Establish and enforce stringent safety protocols for drivers and vehicles. Investigate accidents or incidents promptly and implement corrective actions to minimize future risks.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to the Management Team on fleet performance, operational efficiency, cost analysis, and compliance status.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of overall experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian motor vehicle and transport regulations.
• Proven expertise in managing a corporate or executive vehicle fleet.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a team and interact effectively with the Management team and external vendors.
• Proficiency in fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A valid Indian Driving License is desirable.
