General Summary

The role is part of core Operational function of the organisation, involved in handling and processing large volumes of data from clients in RGA systems. The role will provide information & reporting to downstream stakeholders to help them meet their requirements. High adherence to SOPs is required, to ensure the department is able to meet it’s overall goals. The incumbent will be required to work within small teams and use tools & techniques to anlayse information, report on trends and resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

Premium and Claim Processing and Accounting
  • Processing of premium and claims data received from client insurance companies in RGA systems
  • Analyze premium and claims transactions to ensure accurate reporting and accounting
  • Timely performing brought to account activity for claims.
  • Timely closure of month end subledger posting with error free.
  • Review of pending claims and accrued premium on regular basis, ageing analysis and processing improvements to be planned accordingly
  • Interacting with insurance companies for timely data submission, data processing issues and data quality observations
  • Driving data quality corrections wherever required
  • Ensuring that the retrocession premium and claims are correctly accounted for in a timely manner
Technological and Sustainability
  • Development of tools for monitoring data quality and internal controls using technology
  • Continuous process Improvement using technological solutions
  • The system configuration for the new products, treaties and clients for accurate accounting and reporting
  • Automate control checks used for month end reporting, audit and client data validation
  • Develop tool to work on Blue Book reporting analysis part so that if any queries will be raised can be answered in effective manner.
  • Interaction with IT & Business Analyst teams for system enhancements, including user acceptance testing
Project Management and Audit
  • The role requires recurring IT and Process projects to be undertaken and completed in a timebound manner. This requires detailed process understanding of reinsurance administration process.
  • Leading the audit engagement for admin process and ensuring that audit inputs are shared in a timely manner
  • Ensuring audit observation are tracked and closed appropriately
Cross Functional Interactions
  • Understanding the reporting needs of various stakeholders and designing and automating these reports
  • Understanding the configuration needs from treaty, pricing and BD team
  • Effective communication with stakeholders for closure of impending issues and designing solutions

Required

Education and Experience

  • Postgraduate in commerce (accounting) or mathematics or Degree in engineering or Chartered Accountant – IPCC level
  • Minimum of 6 years (for postgraduate) and 8 years (for graduate) of post-qualification work experience in financial services. Life insurance / re-insurance preferred
  • Worked in an Operations/ Back Office/ Finance function, handling Financial reporting & reconciliation activities, with at least 2 years at a supervisory level
  • Exposure to insurance and reinsurance administration operations (preferably reinsurance administration)
  • Managing outsourcing vendors involved in data entry – Both off site and on site
  • Handling Quality control checks & review activities of financial transactions

Preferred

  • Chartered Accountant/ BE/Data Analytics
  • LOMA certification (Associate of Fellow)
  • Preferred – Completed courses / papers in Actuarial Science
  • Lean Six Sigma or any other quality management certification
  • Exposure to Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau

Skills And Abilities

  • Basic to Intermediate SQL knowledge – Knowledge of data extraction & report generation mandatory
  • Intermediate to advanced Advanced Excel skills – Knowledge of Macros & report generation mandatory
  • Accuracy & Eye for detail
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritize tasks
  • Project Management expertise
