Overview Of The Role
We are seeking a
seasoned leader
with strong experience in
Fund Administration and Fund Management operations
to manage and oversee the
Client Reporting & Accounting Service Management function
. This role requires a dynamic professional who can drive operational excellence, foster stakeholder relationships, and ensure the highest standards of client service delivery across global locations.You will lead a team responsible for service delivery, operational controls, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that reporting and accounting functions adhere to both internal policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and oversee the Client Reporting & Accounting Service Management function, ensuring all deliverables meet service and quality standards.
- Set team objectives, conduct performance appraisals, and provide ongoing mentoring and development for team members.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex issues and operational challenges across the reporting and accounting functions.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships between the Business, Client Reporting, and Accounting Service teams.
- Act as a key liaison with regional heads of Client Mandate (UK, Singapore, US) to ensure regional priorities and escalations are addressed effectively.
- Communicate performance metrics, operational issues, and process enhancements clearly and proactively to stakeholders.
- Deliver written monthly commentary to Oversight functions globally, highlighting delivery vs KPI targets and service performance.
Operational Control & Risk Management
- Identify operational risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies, proposing appropriate mitigation actions.
- Ensure all business controls are implemented, monitored, and adhered to in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Support and ensure the successful implementation of process and system changes that improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Oversee monthly MIS and KPI reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission to Oversight teams.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Work closely with upstream and downstream operational teams to ensure smooth handoffs and alignment on service standards.
- Collaborate across departments to implement process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain updated procedure documents and workflows, ensuring compliance and operational consistency across global teams.
- Support transformation initiatives, ensuring effective communication and adoption within your teams.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting fund reporting and accounting functions.
- Ensure team adherence to compliance and audit standards, providing documentation and evidence during reviews.
Must-Have Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Fund Administration, Fund Accounting, or Client Reporting within the Asset Management or Fund Services industry.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams or service delivery units.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, NAV production, and accounting/reporting processes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and client relationship skills, with the ability to engage at senior levels.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and operational risk awareness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and Word.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Experience producing and analysing KPIs, MIS, and service performance metrics.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, ACCA, or IMC.
- Experience in global asset management operations with exposure to different regulatory environments (e.g., UCITS, AIFMD).
- Working knowledge of Aladdin, SimCorp, or similar fund accounting/reporting systems.
- Experience in process transformation or automation initiatives within fund operations.
- Understanding of third-party oversight models and vendor management frameworks.
- Exposure to data analytics tools or business intelligence dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for MIS reporting.
