Job Summary: The Manager - Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, building client relationships, and expanding the company’s market presence in the event management industry. This role involves strategizing, pitching, and closing deals for corporate events, exhibitions, concerts, and other events, while collaborating with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and research potential clients (corporates, individuals, government bodies, etc.) through market analysis, networking, and industry events. Generate leads via cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and referrals. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to secure repeat business and referrals. Understand client needs and customize event proposals to align with their vision and budget. Sales & Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share. Prepare and deliver compelling pitches, proposals, and presentations to win event contracts. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure profitability while meeting client expectations. Market Research & Strategy: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging event concepts to position the company competitively. Identify new market segments and opportunities for growth (e.g., virtual/hybrid events). Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with event planners, creative teams, and operations staff to ensure seamless execution of events as per client specifications. Provide feedback from clients to improve service offerings and operational efficiency. Brand Promotion: Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry forums to enhance brand visibility. Leverage social media and digital platforms to promote the company’s portfolio and success stories. Reporting & Analysis: Track and report on sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights to senior management. Use CRM tools to manage client interactions and forecast revenue. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field. MBA is a plus. Experience: 3–5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the event management industry. Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse clients. Creative problem-solving and ability to tailor solutions to client needs. Proficiency in CRM and MS Office. Knowledge of event planning processes and industry trends (e.g., hybrid events, sustainability). Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable with a client-centric mindset. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
