Job Description

Key Responsibilities Maintenance Manager   Managing the Maintenance Team: Overseeing and leading a team of maintenance personnel, including plumbers, electricians, technicians, and other skilled workers.  Scheduling and Assigning Work: Creating work schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance requests and projects.  Training and Development: Providing training and guidance to maintenance staff, identifying areas for improvement, and fostering a motivated and skilled workforce.  Performance Management: Evaluating the performance of maintenance staff and providing feedback to improve efficiency and effectiveness.  Preventative Maintenance: Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of assets.  Repair and Maintenance: Overseeing all repair and maintenance activities, including diagnosing issues, coordinating repairs, and ensuring quality workmanship.  Equipment Management: Maintaining an inventory of equipment, tracking maintenance history, and managing the procurement of new equipment or parts.  Facility Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.  Safety Compliance: Implementing and enforcing safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for maintenance staff and other employees.  Budget Creation and Tracking: Developing and managing the maintenance budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective maintenance practices.  Vendor Management: Negotiating contracts with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance services.  Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Providing technical support and guidance to resolve complex maintenance issues and minimize business disruptions.  Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and optimize operational efficiency.  Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance data.  In essence, the Maintenance Manager acts as a key player in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a facility or organization by overseeing all aspects of maintenance, from planning and scheduling to execution and performance management.
