Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Robotics & Automation
Department: Maintenance/Engineering
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Engineer – Robotics & Automation to handle preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of robotic assembly systems. The role involves working with PLCs, drive systems, vision systems, and various sensing devices to ensure efficient and reliable production operations.
Key Responsibilities:1. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic assembly equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Regularly inspect equipment to detect and address wear and tear proactively.
2. Troubleshooting and Repairs Diagnose and repair faults in robotic systems.
Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and resolve communication issues between different PLC systems.
3. Vision System Maintenance Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot vision systems used for quality control in the assembly line.
Ensure accuracy and reliability of machine vision systems.
4. Drive Systems Maintain and troubleshoot Siemens Drives, SEW Drives, and other motion control systems.
Perform parameter setup, fault diagnostics, and ensure optimal operation of drive systems.
5. Sensing Devices Install, maintain, and troubleshoot various sensing devices including proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, and safety devices.
Ensure accurate sensing for machine automation and safety.
6. Electrical Hoists Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical hoists used within the production facility.
Ensure operational safety and compliance with handling standards.
7. Documentation Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts usage, and equipment performance logs.
Update machine history and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
8. Safety Compliance Adhere to company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and legal regulations.
Identify, report, and mitigate any safety hazards in the work environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Diploma or BE/BTech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or relevant discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in maintenance of robotic assembly equipment and automation systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
Experience with Siemens Drives, SEW Drives, and other motion control systems.
Hands-on experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, etc.).
Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, and industrial automation components.
Ability to interpret and work with electrical schematics and control diagrams.
Soft Skills:
Problem-solving ability with strong analytical thinking.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities during downtime situations.
Work Model:
On-site, full-time.
Shift work may be required based on operational needs.
