We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to support logistics operations and ensure the efficient and cost-effective distribution of products and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation, fleet management, and freight operations — ensuring on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and compliance with all statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Fleet Management
- Ensure on-time delivery and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Monitor running costs, fuel efficiency, and vehicle alignment.
- Track vehicle usage and ensure timely renewal of insurance, tax, and fitness certificates.
- Coordinate regular vehicle maintenance and documentation.
Freight Coordination
- Maintain daily fare analysis for all local transportation (truck, container, auto, etc.).
- Coordinate with group logistics teams to confirm vessel/container/truck availability.
- Verify statutory documents for interstate vehicles.
- Develop and maintain vendor lists for shipping and transport.
- Negotiate and set transportation fares by location, preparing freight charts accordingly.
- Prepare agreements for local transportation agents.
Order Coordination & Documentation
- Collect transportation requirements from the purchase department and arrange appropriate delivery modes.
- Coordinate and track vehicle movements from dispatch to delivery.
- Verify delivery documents — invoices, packing lists, weigh slips, freight invoices, and statutory papers.
- Process advance tax documentation and coordinate with the accounts department.
- Submit daily transportation and delivery reports to relevant departments and management.
- Ensure timely communication with sales and purchase departments after successful delivery.
Damage & Insurance Management
- Maintain damage and insurance claim registers.
- Coordinate insurance surveys and documentation with the logistics team.
- Follow up on claim settlements and ensure credit notes/cheques are submitted to accounts.
GPRS & Vehicle Tracking
- Maintain and update vehicle register reports.
- Coordinate GPRS installation and monitor vehicle tracking.
- Conduct random checks and report discrepancies.
Customer Satisfaction & Service
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and swift service availability, especially during urgent requirements.
- Maintain professional communication and foster long-term customer relationships.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation, or fleet management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation documentation, freight operations, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and logistics tracking software (e.g., GPRS systems).
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
