Job Description

Are you passionate about designing beautiful experiences at scale? Do you thrive on simplifying complex systems for real users with a knack of storytelling ? At CaratLane, we're looking for a Lead Product Designer to lead our online Design Team—the team behind how customers buy, try, and fall in love with CaratLane Jewellery - This role will redefine the next decade of CaratLane product design - the future of Jewellery Omnichannel buying. Contribute to CartLane’s vision : to be the most loved brand when it comes to Jewellery.

As a lead designer, you’ll help shape this journey—making it more intuitive, seamless, and efficient. By joining this team, you’ll help influence long-term visual and interaction design decisions and set the direction for seamless, cohesive user experiences. You’ll also collaborate with cross functional teams, sharing best practices, mentoring and contributing to a culture of design excellence.

Essentially Lead Product Designer will look at two major context at CaratLane :

1. Pre-purchase. The service & design activities that work to enhance the experience when the consumer is in the moment to engage at store or online. This is the art of storytelling and strategizing how & what to talk in the moment & pixels. Your taste in luxury & visual design is what will define the next decade of CaratLane.

2. Post-purchase. The service & design activities that create amazing experiences after the consumer has turned into a customer. All post-purchase activities start at the moment the consumer has parted with his/her money, right through to the point the consumer receives the product. From Loyalty programs to Gamification!

It’s important to note that both pre- and post-purchase comprise a mix of “front of house” and “behind the scenes” activities. You will collaborate with Online - Product Design, Tech & Management along with Merchandise and Retail sales. Think of design activities at CaratLane online or stores like the front and back stages of a theatre performance. Our consumer sees and experiences everything the theatre production teams want them to see or hear, however, there is an army of people, activities, and workflows occurring behind the scenes. (the script, direction, lighting tools, orchestra etc.). Any issues/faults that lie within the backstage will translate to a degraded performance and experience for those watching. More than that, ‘what & why’ motivates and demotivates our buyers at the app or store is something you will identify. Think of yourself as the director of the theatrical performance which defines success as all moving parts (front and back) working perfectly together to present the desired pitch, a perfect performance or a wow frictionless Purchase of the jewellery.
