About the Job:
Kent is looking for a Principal Engineer
to be based in Mumbai/Vadodara office, who will have around 15+ years relevant Process Design & Detail Engineering experience, mostly in the field of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sector with large EPC companies or Engineering Consulting organizations. You should be effective with verbal and written communication skillsSkills and Responsibilities:
- Prepare / review Process Design Basis for the project in line with Client and Project requirements.
- Preparation and review the deliverables of Process discipline such as P&IDs, UDDs, PFDs, UFDs, DPDTs, PSDs, Equipment Process datasheets, Instrument Process Datasheets, Process Design Criteria, Basic Engineering Design Data, Duty Specifications for Packages, Design calculations, System Hydraulics, Equipment List, Safety Valve Calculations and Datasheets, Flare network model development and sizing of main flare header along with sub-header, Utility Summary, Catalyst and Chemical Summary etc.
- Review and commenting of vendor documents for Static, Machinery and Packages based on bids received from approved vendors.
- Participate in project design reviews and various safety studies like HAZOP, SIL etc.
- Prepare / review technical bid evaluations based on vendor inputs.
- Perform inter-discipline squad checks and close out the comments received.
- Attend 3D model reviews as per project schedule.
- Perform site surveys and adequacy checks if required.
- Assist the Lead Process Engineer as required with management tasks and project control functions, planning and scheduling.
- Site pre-commissioning activities, if required
- Attend and proactively lead / discuss the process discipline queries with the Client during weekly meetings
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical engineering
- 15 -20 years of basic and detail engineering experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, Polymer & Petrochemical industries
- Candidates having experience in Engineering office of Reputed Consulting Engineering Companies preferably in the field of Refinery, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Oil & Gas will be preferred.
- Oil and Gas and/or Refinery experience required
- Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering of Refinery projects, Upstream Oil and Gas projects, oil tank farm projects handling petrochemical products, storage, and transportation of petroleum products (liquid/gas) via pipelines, road loading gantries, etc
- Must have handled utilities and offsites projects that requires utilities for the oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical plants.
- International Codes & Standards and Best Engineering Practices that apply to Process design
- Quality management system and procedures
- Project management and control procedures
- Process workflow and interdisciplinary co-ordination
- Project Process Deliverables with schedule
- Project Risk Assessment
- Adherence to HSE norms by self and team members
- Proficiency in understanding of Process design aspects
Software Skills:
- Aspen Hysys suite
- Steady state/Transient hydraulics software if any (KORF, AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow).
- Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication:
