Job Description - Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and design of real-time embedded systems leveraging FreeRTOS.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain embedded software and firmware using C/C++ on various MCU/MPU architectures (primarily ARM Cortex-M/A).
Utilize advanced FreeRTOS features, including task management, IPC (queues, semaphores), and memory management strategies.
- Collaborate with hardware teams for board bring-up, integration, and debugging using scopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD tools.
Develop robust low-level device drivers for a variety of peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB).
- Implement and integrate networking protocols and stacks (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, BLE, MQTT, CoAP).
- Define and enforce software quality standards, coding guidelines (e.g., MISRA C), and conduct rigorous code reviews.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and project estimation for junior engineering teams.
- Oversee all phases of the product lifecycle from specification and development through testing and mass production support.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Programming Languages: Expert proficiency in Embedded C and C++.
RTOS Expertise: In-depth, practical experience with FreeRTOS is mandatory.
- Hardware Knowledge: Strong understanding of ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-A microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32, NXP). Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
- Interfaces & Protocols:
Wired: I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet.
Wireless/Networking: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, TCP/IP stack, MQTT.
Development Tools: Experience with IDEs (Keil, IAR, STM32CubeIDE), JTAG debuggers, Git version control, and standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Methodologies: Proficient in Agile/Scrum development cycles and
secure coding practices (OTA updates, secure boot).
Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Analyzes equipment and conducts experimental tests to establish operating data.
- Performs engineering duties including manufacturing planning and the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical apparatus to ensure that projects are completed on-time and as per the defined goals.
- Determines material and equipment needs and orders supplies to ensure sufficient resources for project completion.
- Develops or performs operational, maintenance, or testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, or systems to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of engineering processes.
- Manage activities for the manufacture, construction, installation, maintenance, operation, or modification of electronic equipment, products, or systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepares, reviews or maintains maintenance schedules, design documentation, or operational reports and charts to ensure that progress and performance can be tracked.
- Resolves day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.
- Troubleshoots electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently.
- Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in other equipment and devices.
