The Impact You Will Have In This Role
The Information Technology group at DTCC delivers secure, scalable, and intelligent technology solutions that underpin the infrastructure of global capital markets. As part of this team, the intern will contribute to AI-driven data initiatives within Wealth Management Services (WMS), focusing on Insurance & Retirement Services, Mutual Funds Services, and Alternative Investment Products.This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply academic learning to real-world data challenges. The intern will work on machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and generative AI (GenAI) technologies to enhance data quality, automate insights, and support intelligent decision-making. Responsibilities may include building data pipelines, training and evaluating ML models, applying GenAI for data summarization and anomaly detection, and contributing to the development of AI-powered data products. Interns will collaborate with domain experts, participate in technical design and documentation, and gain exposure to enterprise-grade data platforms and governance frameworks.
Your Primary Responsibilities
- Understand and analyze the behavior of existing AI/ML models applied to financial data, perform scenario simulations, and prototype new use cases for data-driven insights.
- Develop and track performance metrics to evaluate model accuracy, efficiency, and business impact across Insurance & Retirement Services, Mutual Funds Services, and Alternative Investment Products.
- Design and implement monitoring frameworks to ensure model reliability, data quality, and compliance with governance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including data engineering, product, and business stakeholders—to conduct model testing, validate outputs, and refine AI solutions for production readiness.

Qualifications
- Candidates should preferably be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or related fields, with expected graduation no later than May 2027.
- A strong interest in data-centric AI applications is essential, including exposure to machine learning, generative AI, data engineering, and cloud-based infrastructure platforms.
- Familiarity with the financial services domain, including basic understanding of capital markets, data governance, and quantitative modeling, is a plus.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2 or equivalent is required to be considered.
Talents Needed For Success
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially in data-driven environments.
- Solid foundation in statistics, mathematics, and data modeling techniques.
- Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas, Spark).
- Interest in applying GenAI for tasks such as data summarization, anomaly detection, and intelligent automation.
- Ability to grasp new concepts quickly, especially in emerging AI technologies and enterprise data platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or within a team.
- Prior internship or project experience in AI, data science, or financial technology is a plus.
- Must be a current college/university student.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
