About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Hardware Management

• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, biometric systems, and other hardware
• Oversee IT labs and classrooms to ensure AV/IT equipment is functional
• Maintain asset inventory and manage hardware lifecycle
• Integrate IT systems with academic and administrative workflows
• Ensure licensing compliance and vendor coordination

Network & Security Operations

• Manage wired/wireless networks, firewalls, and internet bandwidth
• Implement cybersecurity policies including access controls and threat monitoring
• Ensure secure VPN connections for faculty and staff
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime

Servers & Data Management

• Administer on-prem/cloud servers, backup systems, and storage infrastructure
• Implement data backup, archival, and recovery processes
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations

IT Services & Support

• Supervise IT helpdesk and resolve faculty, staff, and student IT issues
• Manage email systems, user accounts, and access rights
• Implement ticketing systems for streamlined support
• Train faculty and staff on IT best practices

Vendor & Contract Management

• Manage relationships with hardware vendors, ISPs, and service providers
• Negotiate AMC contracts and ensure timely maintenance
• Evaluate and procure hardware/network solutions based on campus needs

Planning & Reporting

• Develop IT policies, SOPs, and security guidelines
• Monitor IT budgets and prepare performance reports
• Report metrics, downtime logs, and incident responses to management

Candidate Profile

• Education:

  Graduate/Postgraduate in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field (Essential)

• Certifications (Preferred):

  CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft/VMware, Cybersecurity credentials

• Experience:

  Minimum 8 years in IT infrastructure, hardware, and network management (preferably in educational or enterprise setups)

• Technical Skills:

  Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, switches, routers, wireless systems, server administration, and security protocols

• Leadership Skills:

  Experience leading IT support teams and managing vendors/service providers

• Soft Skills:

  Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
