The Indirect Tax Technology Analyst position offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional with a diverse skill set. The core fundamental requirement involves a broad knowledge of tax processes, testing protocols, implementation standards, monitoring and reporting. In addition, knowledge of Company information security policies, tax applications, and technology trends is desirable. This position will play an integral role in managing the portfolio of indirect tax workstreams in support of Ford global purchasing and sales systems and processes. This role is a key component needed to continuously develop and maintain the integration of the global Tax Office structure relating to technology, process, data, and controls. In addition, strong communication skills are required to assist with interacting with vendors, coordinating with Ford internal IT, working closely with all global Tax Office functional groups, assisting with tax technology strategy, and general IT related functions.
Minimum one to three years of experience, with demonstrated progression of responsibilities, supporting corporate tax and/or finance applications, or other related experience.
Minimum one to three years of experience with functional technology capabilities (e.g., business analysis, functional analysis, technical analysis, XML interpretation, Alteryx, etc.).
Minimum one to three years of experience with tax engine applications (e.g., Vertex, Avalara)
Minimum one to three years of experience with SAP
Minimum one to three years of experience with Ford IT processes and policies
Experience with Microsoft Power Applications such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query
Familiar with key AI concepts and tools relevant to business operations to improve efficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation). Strong analytical skills. Strong project management experience. High level of ethics, integrity, judgment, discretion and confidentiality. Highly organized, self-motivated and detailed oriented. Very comfortable working in a fast-paced and continually changing environment. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field. Knowledge of integrating systems and businesses capabilities within an enterprise. Knowledge of identifying and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements
Identify and document business, functional and technical requirements to support new business initiatives (e.g., S/4HANA, Tax Engine) and scope effects on existing transaction tax calculation processes and systems.
Guide internal and external resources in support of existing business integrations (e.g., Ariba) to develop and achieve compliance with a focus on continuous improvement.
Design, build, operate and maintain systematic, analytical, and reporting solutions in Vertex TPE in support of indirect tax compliance needs.
Monitor system issues log with IT to ensure timely resolution of items, escalate if necessary
