Job Description

The Hydrologist will play a critical role in delivering advanced hydrological and hydraulic solutions for projects related to dams, reservoirs, flood management, and water resources. This position is pivotal to Jomiso’ s future, as the chosen candidate will have a clear career trajectory towards assuming a leadership role in the company’s Water Resources Division. We seek someone who is not only technically proficient but also driven by a passion for developing innovative solutions, leading teams, and ultimately driving the vision of company. 3. Key Responsibilities: • Hydrological & Hydraulic Modelling: Execute complex hydrological and hydraulic modeling using advanced tools such as HEC-RAS, TuFLOW, and MIKE. • Dam Break Modelling & Emergency Action Plans: Conduct dam break simulation, flood routing studies, update rule curves, and develop emergency action plans, ensuring alignment with international safety standards. • Flood Forecasting & Early Warning Systems: Design and implement flood forecasting and early warning systems to minimize risks and improve disaster preparedness. • Decision Support Systems (DSS): Develop robust DSS frameworks to support water resource management and disaster response decision-making. • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, analysis documents, and guidelines for stakeholders, ensuring project deliverables are met within deadlines • Water Resources Planning & Management: Develop and implement strategies for sustainable water management, including water conservation, flood control, pollution prevention, and efficient resource utilization. • Water Resources Assessment: Evaluate the availability, quality, and potential of water resources from various sources such as rivers, lakes, groundwater aquifers, and precipitation. • Hydrological Project Execution: Plan, organize, and execute hydrological projects, ensuring timely delivery and application of specialized knowledge in hydrology, hydrogeology, and related disciplines to address complex water-related challenges. • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze surface water, groundwater, and meteorological data to assess water flow, quality, and behaviour. Prepare monthly MIS reports, project progress updates, and timesheets in coordination with the team. 4. Desired Candidate Profile • Education: B. Tech in Civil Engineering / M. Tech in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields • Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, dam break analysis, flood forecasting, decision support systems, and water resources management. • Skills & Tools: Proficiency in software such as HEC-RAS, TuFLOW, MIKE, and ArcGIS. Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills are a must. • Certifications: Professional certifications related to water resources and hydrology will be an added advantage.
