Position Overview: The Team Lead – Survey & Mapping will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing all survey and mapping activities under the project. The role requires leadership in managing survey teams, client handling, Liaisoning ensuring data accuracy, and integrating survey outputs into GIS and planning systems. The position demands both technical expertise and managerial capability to deliver high-quality spatial data for decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Lead, plan, and oversee surveying operations including topographical, cadastral, engineering, and thematic surveys. Supervise and mentor survey teams, allocate tasks, and monitor performance and timelines. Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of survey instruments. Validate and integrate field survey data into GIS systems for mapping, analysis, and reporting. Provide technical guidance on mapping standards, projections, coordinate systems, and quality assurance . Collaborate with GIS, Remote Sensing, and Planning teams to deliver accurate base maps, thematic maps, and project-specific geospatial datasets. Review and approve survey outputs, drawings, and reports before submission. Ensure compliance with project specifications, legal requirements, and safety/environmental guidelines. Identify and resolve technical challenges in field surveys, including difficult terrain or poor connectivity. Coordinate with government agencies, consultants, and contractors on survey and mapping-related requirements. Prepare progress reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience: Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s/master’s degree in surveying, Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics, Geography, or related field. Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in land/engineering surveying and mapping. At least 1 years in a supervisory/lead role managing survey teams and projects. Proven experience in using modern survey instruments and techniques (Total Station, DGPS, UAV/Drones, LiDAR, etc.). Skills: Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills. Expertise in preparing survey drawings, as-built maps, and spatial datasets. Ability to troubleshoot field issues and ensure data accuracy. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Other Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively to field sites, including remote and challenging terrains. Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs.
