Optimist is a leading brand strategy and design consultancy based in Pune, with 15+ years of expertise in brand strategy, brand identity, website design & development, and digital marketing (Optimist Brand Design). 

Role Overview

We’re seeking an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, design-driven environment—someone who can think strategically yet roll up their sleeves to get things done. You’ll be the cultural heartbeat of our agency, nurturing a workplace where creativity flows, collaboration thrives, and every team member feels inspired to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Source, screen, and onboard top creative and operational talent—designers, strategists, developers, marketers—as the team grows.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture Building: Initiate and manage programs, team events, and rituals (like coffee brainstorming sessions) that deepen collaboration and preserve the agency’s creative ethos.
  • Performance Management: Develop clear performance evaluation frameworks, conduct reviews, and monitor growth initiatives.
  • Training & Development: Support skill development with targeted learning (e.g., soft skills, tools like Adobe Creative Suite) and growth pathways, including mentorship programs.
  • Policy, Compliance & Operations: Manage policies, maintain HR records, ensure statutory compliance, and oversee payroll.
  • HR Analytics & Reporting: Track HR metrics—attrition, hiring timelines, engagement and training outcomes; generate periodic reports to guide leadership decisions.
  • HR as Strategic Partner: Collaborate with leadership to anticipate hiring needs, shape team structure, support creative departments, and sustain company values as Optimist expands.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 years of HR experience in creative agencies or startups
  • Strong hands-on experience across hiring, onboarding, policy, employee relations, and organizational culture
  • Deep empathy, communication finesse, and maturity—especially amid a creative, fast-paced environment
  • A blend of strategic mindset and executional agility
  • Familiarity with Indian labor laws
  • Proficiency with HR tools (ATS, performance tracking, etc.)—always a plus
  • Attitude: proactive, solutions-driven, adaptable, and culturally aligned with Optimist’s creative energy
