Job Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic advisor to business leaders, aligning HR strategies with business objectives. The role focuses on talent management, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with Indian labour laws while driving a strong people-centric culture.

Key Responsibilities


Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with business leaders to understand business goals and provide HR solutions.
  • Translate business strategy into people initiatives (workforce planning, capability building, org design).
  • Act as a change agent during organizational transformations.

Talent Management

  • Support hiring strategy, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Drive performance management cycles (goal setting, reviews, ratings, promotions).
  • Identify high-potential employees and support leadership development.

Employee Relations

  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote positive employee engagement and workplace culture.
  • Coach managers on people management and employee issues.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Indian labour laws (Factories Act, Shops & Establishments Act, POSH, Gratuity, PF, ESI, etc.).
  • Support audits and statutory requirements.
  • Guide managers on HR policies and procedures.

Learning & Development

  • Identify training needs and support learning initiatives.
  • Partner with L&D teams to enhance employee capability and productivity.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Support annual compensation reviews, incentives, and benchmarking.
  • Advise business on pay structures and internal equity.

Data & Analytics

  • Use HR metrics and analytics to support decision-making.
  • Track attrition, engagement, performance, and workforce trends.

Required Qualifications

  • MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification.
  • 6–12 years of HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in an HRBP role.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and HR best practices.
