Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive HR Operations Intern to manage and streamline the HR activities for our Gig workforce at the clients site. This role will focus on ensuring smooth HR processes, employee engagement, compliance, and support for our flexible workforce, while collaborating with the clients HR team to align with their organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR Operations Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day HR operations for the gig workforce at the client site, ensuring efficient onboarding, offboarding, and all related HR functions.
    • Process and manage gig worker payroll, benefits, and other compensatory elements.
    • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and data, in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  2. Onboarding & Offboarding:

    • Manage the onboarding process for gig workers, including documentation, induction, and system updates.
    • Handle offboarding processes, ensuring exit formalities are followed and feedback is captured.
  3. Compliance & Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, client-specific HR policies, and regulatory requirements for gig workers.
    • Track attendance, leave records, and any discrepancies with respect to the workforce.
    • Prepare and submit HR reports to management and the client as required (e.g., headcount, payroll, attrition, etc.).
  4. Employee Engagement:

    • Act as a point of contact for gig workers queries, ensuring they receive timely and effective support.
    • Assist in creating a positive work culture for gig workers, facilitating communication between the workers and the client.
    • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and feedback loops to maintain worker satisfaction.
  5. Performance Management:

    • Coordinate performance reviews for gig workers with the client’s HR team.
    • Track performance-related data and assist with any corrective action or recognition.
  6. Technology & Process Improvement:

    • Leverage HR technologies (HRMS, payroll systems, etc.) to streamline operations.
    • Continuously suggest improvements to HR processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Ad-hoc HR Projects:

    • Assist with HR-related projects, including workforce planning, training needs, and development initiatives for gig workers.
    • Support other HR initiatives as required by the client.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education

    : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience

    : 2-4 years of experience in HR operations, ideally with experience managing gig or contract workforces.
  • Technical Skills

    : Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRMS or other HR-related software/tools.
  • Communication

    : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Problem Solving

    : Ability to address issues proactively and find creative solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Attention to Detail

    : High degree of accuracy in HR documentation, data handling, and reporting.
  • Time Management

    : Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations related to gig economy workers.
  • Experience working with client-facing HR functions.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and benefits administration.
