Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Statutory Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure 100% compliance with PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Bonus, Gratuity, CLRA, Maternity Act, Apprentices Act, etc.
  • Maintain registers, returns, filings, and statutory records.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits (Labour, ESIC, PF, Factory, Safety, Fire, Pollution Control, etc.).
  • Handle inspection visits and provide necessary documentation.

2. Labour Law & Legal Matters

  • Ensure implementation of labour law provisions across contractors & direct workforce.
  • Draft and review HR policies as per legal requirements.
  • Manage disciplinary actions, show-cause notices, chargesheets, inquiries, and domestic hearings.
  • Support legal cases and coordination with legal advisors when required.

3. Mathadi & Contract Labour Management

  • Liaison with Mathadi Boards and ensure registration, payments, and adherence to applicable rules.
  • Monitor contractor licences, compliances, challans, and wage payments.
  • Verify and audit contractor statutory documents (WC policy, ESIC/PF challans, attendance, wages).

4. Industrial Relations & Workforce Discipline

  • Maintain harmonious relations with workers, unions, and statutory bodies.
  • Handle grievances, conflicts, misconduct, absenteeism, and disciplinary issues.
  • Conduct counselling sessions and ensure discipline on shopfloor.
  • Support in negotiations and settlements if applicable.

5. Government & External Liaison

  • Coordinate with Labour Department, Factory Inspector, Mathadi Board, ESIC, PF Offices, Local Authorities etc.
  • Ensure timely submissions, renewals, and legal updates.

  • Fulfill manpower requirements for workers & staff.
  • Handle onboarding, induction, and documentation.

7. Payroll & HR Operations

  • Provide payroll inputsattendance, leaves, overtime, contractor bills.
  • Maintain HRIS/records and employee files.

8. Employee Engagement & Communication

  • Drive communication, engagement, welfare committee meetings, and safety initiatives.

9. Performance & Training

  • Support supervisors in performance tracking.
  • Conduct training on safety, POSH, discipline, and compliance awareness.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of Labour Laws & Factory compliance.
  • Experience with Mathadi regulations (preferred for Maharashtra).
  • Excellent documentation & audit readiness.
  • Problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-handling skills.
  • Ability to work with workers, unions, contractors & authorities
  • 512 years experience in IR & statutory compliance (Manufacturing preferred).
