Job Overview
You will be responsible for leading all Human Resources functions across the three core arms of the business—Design, Manufacturing, and Installation. Your role is to build a strong, skilled, motivated workforce, ensure safe and efficient operations, maintain compliance with labour & industrial laws, and foster a culture that supports creativity, quality deliverables, site safety, and client satisfaction.

Recruitment & Talent Planning• Work with Design leads to hire designers, draftsmen, CAD/BIM specialists.
- Work with Manufacturing leads to recruit craftsmen, machine operators, quality control staff.
- Work with Installation/site leads to recruit site supervisors, skilled installers, labourers.
- Forecast staffing needs for upcoming projects, capacity planning across manufacturing and installation.Onboarding & Induction• Develop different induction programs for each team (Design / Manufacturing / Installation) given their different operational needs.
- Ensure safety induction for all shop floor / site installation staff.
- Familiarize new hires with design tools, manufacturing SOPs, installation protocols, safety norms, client‐interaction policies, etc.Performance Management & Skill Development• Design KPIs / performance metrics suitable for each team (creativity, adherence to design standards; production efficiency; quality; punctuality; installations delivered on schedule; client feedback).
- Identify skill gaps (e.g. new fabrication techniques; finishing; installation safety; design software).
- Organize training sessions (technical, safety, soft skills) and mentorship programs.Safety, Health & Compliance• Ensure compliance with Indian labour laws, state & central acts relevant to manufacturing, factories, installation/construction.
- Ensure workers on shop-floor and installation sites have PPE, proper safety training, first aid, safe working conditions.
- Maintain health as well as welfare measures (drinking water, rest areas, etc.).
- Monitor working hours, overtime, rest breaks as per law.Compensation, Benefits & Policies• Set up salary structures for all functions aligned to market and internal parity.
- Manage benefits (PF, ESI, gratuity, leave policies, insurance etc.).
- Prepare and update policies (attendance, site/installation allowances, travel, overtime, shift work if any).Employee Relations & Site/Team Culture• Act as interface for grievances, conflicts (especially between site/manufacturing/design).
- Ensure smooth communication between teams (e.g. manufacturing capacity vs installation scheduling).
- Foster motivation, safety culture, quality mindset.Labour / Contract / Outsourced Workers Management• Many installation projects or manufacturing tasks might use contract labour. Manage contractor agreements, ensure they comply with contract labour law.
- Ensure legal registrations/licenses needed are in place.
- Oversight of outsourced / temporary staff performance and compliance.Operational Support• Work with operations / project management to understand project timelines, staffing for installations.
- Coordinate with manufacturing lead to ensure production meets installation demands.
- Ensure HR inputs (staffing, training, movement of staff) support project deadlines.HR Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement• Track metrics like turnover, absenteeism, safety incidents, time to hire, training hours, installation delays due to manpower issues.
- Use data to propose improvements.
- Periodic audit of HR and compliance processes.Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related; MBA / Master’s in HR preferred.
- Several years (5-8+) HR experience, including in a manufacturing or construction related environment. Experience with site work / installation teams is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, factories acts, safety laws, shop & establishment laws etc.
- Experience managing contract labour and compliance.
- Good communication, negotiation, conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, project-driven environment.
- Sensitivity to both “creative” (design) staff and “operational / manual” staff — each group has different motivators and challenges.
