Job Description

HR Head

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Partner with the Director on all people-related matters at the plant.
  • Drive HR strategies aligned with business and manufacturing needs.
  • Foster a performance-driven, compliant, and engaging workplace culture.

2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for plant-level roles (labor, supervisors, engineers, managers).
  • Forecast manpower needs in coordination with production heads.
  • Build strong hiring pipelines via ITIs, local agencies, and technical institutes.

3. Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Maintain harmonious relations with workers, unions, and supervisors.
  • Manage grievances and conflict resolution effectively.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws (Factories Act, ESIC, PF, Wages Act, etc.).
  • Liaise with labor inspectors, legal advisors, and statutory authorities.

4. Training & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and organize technical/soft skill training programs.
  • Develop and implement the annual training calendar aligned with production needs.

5. Performance Management

  • Oversee the appraisal process for all plant employees.
  • Coach managers on KPIs, feedback, and performance improvement.
  • Drive productivity enhancement initiatives.

6. Payroll & HR Operations

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Maintain attendance, leave, overtime, and shift records.
  • Prepare HR dashboards and reports for management.

7. Health, Safety & Welfare

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health & safety regulations.
  • Implement welfare initiatives canteen, transport, uniforms, health camps, etc.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

8. Culture & Engagement

  • Organize employee engagement events, festivals, and team-building programs.
  • Conduct open forums/communication sessions between management & staff.
  • Promote inclusivity, discipline, and a respectful workplace culture.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education:

    MBA / PGDM in HR or MSW (Master of Social Work) from a reputed institute.
  • Experience:

    8+ years in HR with at least 3 years in a manufacturing/plant setup.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws & compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in HRMS tools, Excel, and labor documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Background in manufacturing/engineering/consumer goods preferred.

Work Conditions

  • Full-time role based at Changodar Plant; covers HR operations for Changodar, Nikol, and PAN India corporate offices.
  • 6-day work week; flexibility required during audits or peak production.
  • Occasional travel to corporate head office or training sessions.
