Role Overview

Head of HR

strategic yet hands-on role

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the HR strategy aligned with business and organizational objectives.
  • Partner closely with CXOs and business heads to drive organizational effectiveness and people productivity.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team across functions (HRBP, Compliance, L&D, Operations).

2. HR Business Partnering

  • Serve as a strategic HRBP to leadership for workforce planning, organization design, and people decisions.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, employee relations, and career development.
  • Drive culture alignment and employee engagement across departments.

3. Legal & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all labor laws, employment regulations, and statutory obligations across locations (India & global, if applicable).
  • Liaise with external legal consultants and ensure audits, inspections, and documentation are timely and accurate.
  • Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, HR policies, and legal documentation.

4. HR Operations & Policy Governance

  • Oversee HR operations including onboarding, HRMS, attendance, leave, and payroll coordination.
  • Build and maintain company-wide HR policies, employee handbooks, and code of conduct frameworks.
  • Implement HR technology systems for automation, data accuracy, and analytics.

5. Performance Management & Compensation Governance

  • Oversee performance management cycle — from goal setting to appraisals and feedback.
  • Ensure consistency and fairness in ratings, promotions, and salary revisions.
  • Partner with Finance and Leadership on compensation structures and budget control.

6. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Design and execute initiatives to strengthen engagement, recognition, and retention.
  • Address employee relations issues proactively and fairly.
  • Promote a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.

7. Learning, Policy, and Organizational Development

  • Build HR frameworks for leadership development, behavioral training, and policy awareness.
  • Drive change management and culture initiatives aligned with company values.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience in

    IT Services / Consulting / Technology organizations

    .
  • Strong background in

    HR Business Partnering, Compliance, Employee Relations, and Policy Governance

    .
  • Solid understanding of

    labor laws, statutory requirements, and HR operational excellence

    .
  • Proven leadership experience managing HR teams across geographies or functions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High integrity, resilience, and ability to balance empathy with business pragmatism.

Educational Qualifications

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or related field from a reputed institute.
  • Additional certifications in Labor Law, HR Analytics, or Organizational Development preferred.
