Head of Procurement

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer with strong expertise in electronics sourcing, IoT components, OEM coordination, and vendor management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement operations, building reliable supplier networks, and ensuring cost-effective, high-quality sourcing. Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin and the ability to travel for supplier visits will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of IoT components and soft services, ensuring timely availability for production, operations, and new product development

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard OEM suppliers to strengthen the vendor's ecosystem.

• Conduct global sourcing with a focus on Chinese markets, negotiating pricing, delivery terms, contracts, and driving cost-reduction.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent quality and supply reliability.

• Monitor market trends, component availability, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance.

• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, production, and SCM teams to forecast requirements and plan procurement.

• Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare procurement reports, cost analysis, and supplier assessments for management review.

• Manage logistics coordination, shipment tracking, and follow-ups with international vendors.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally based on business requirements.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of electronic components, IoT hardware, and OEM manufacturing processes. • Strong understanding of SCM tools, procurement systems, and ERP platforms.

• Expertise in global sourcing, supplier evaluation, and cost benchmarking.

• Familiarity with import/export documentation, logistics, and customs compliance.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and procurement analytics.

• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, BOMs, and component specifications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, with relevant professional certifications.

• 8-15 years of experience in end-to-end procurement, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, component sourcing, and supply chain management.

• Experience working with OEMs, component distributors, international suppliers, and handling customs clearance, import/export compliance, and logistics coordination.

• Mandarin/Chinese language proficiency is highly preferred.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor-management skills.

• Experience in IoT product components, PCB sourcing, semiconductors, sensors, connectors, or similar categories.
