Head of Operations

Are you a dynamic operational leader with a passion for purpose-driven impact? We are seeking a senior executive to lead the in-country delivery of the India strategy for a leading STEM professional membership body - overseeing operations, governance, and compliance for three entities and managing a talented team of 11. This role will be based in the Bengaluru office a minimum of 2 days per week.

As the most senior representative in India, the Operations Head will lead the local office, maintain statutory compliance, hold a directorship, and ensure seamless collaboration with international colleagues. With a strong grip on financial oversight (approx. £0.5M annual turnover), HR, legal obligations, and cross-border reporting, you'll play a key role in aligning regional delivery with global priorities.

Salary: 4 million INR + discretionary bonus

Location: Bengaluru (minimum 2 days per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate as legal representative and Director for all Indian entities, ensuring local laws and internal policies are upheld
• Oversee budgeting, team management, financial planning and reporting across all business units
• Lead and develop the Bengaluru-based team; mentor managers and foster a high-performance culture
• Deliver against a mission-led strategy focused on professional development, engineering excellence, and social impact
• Liaise with international teams to ensure operational alignment
• Represent the organisation with confidence in legal, governance, and business forums

About you:

• Proven operational leadership in India - ideally in a professional membership body, association or similarly regulated environment
• Exceptional understanding of governance, compliance, and HR practices
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L
• Ability to drive strategy with warmth, rigour and agility
• Line management experience with the gravitas to lead national delivery
