Job Title: Head of Production Hydraulic Division

Department:

Hydraulic Division

Reports To:

Managing Director/CEO

Experience Required:

10-15 years in Hydraulic Systems Manufacturing (Cylinders, Powerpacks)We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Head of Production for our Hydraulic Division. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in the design and manufacturing of hydraulic systems, including cylinders and powerpacks. The Head of Production will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that operations run smoothly, efficiently, and meet the highest quality standards. This role will also involve managing a team, optimizing production workflow, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Management:
    • Oversee the entire production process of the Hydraulic Division, including the manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders and powerpacks.
    • Ensure timely completion of production schedules in line with customer demands and quality standards.
    • Manage production resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials, to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Design and Manufacturing Oversight:
    • Ensure that all hydraulic systems, components, and products are designed and manufactured according to industry standards and company specifications.
    • Work closely with the design and engineering teams to review and approve hydraulic designs for manufacturability.
    • Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure it meets both technical and quality requirements.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain high standards of quality control throughout the production process.
    • Regularly review and audit manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
    • Lead problem-solving initiatives for any quality-related issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a production team consisting of supervisors, engineers, and operators.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the production team.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously assess and optimize production workflows to reduce lead times, minimize waste, and improve overall efficiency.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve production processes.
    • Identify and implement automation and technology advancements to enhance production capabilities.
  • Capacity Planning:
    • Forecast production needs and plan capacity accordingly to meet customer orders and company growth objectives.
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure the timely availability of materials and components required for production.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration:
    • Work closely with sales, procurement, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth coordination across departments.
    • Act as a liaison between the production department and senior management to report on production status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure all production activities comply with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Customer Focus:
    • Ensure that all products meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.
    • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and be responsive to any production-related inquiries or issues.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master s degree is a plus.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the hydraulic industry, specifically in the design and manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders and powerpacks.
  • Proven track record in a production leadership role with strong experience in production planning, team management, and quality control.
  • Deep technical knowledge of hydraulic systems, including hydraulic powerpacks, cylinders, and related components.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications for hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, ERP systems, and production management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Additional Information

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic testing, assembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of automation and CNC machining for hydraulic component production.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
