Draftsman – Order Processing & CNC Programming

We are seeking a highly skilled Draftsman to support our order processing and production activities. The Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D drawings, developing 3D models, creating accurate BOMs, and assisting the sales team with design-related requirements. The role also includes planning day-to-day CNC nesting operations and generating CNC milling programs using Mastercam to support efficient production.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare 2D detailed drawings from Sales Orders and Work Orders using AutoCAD.Create 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks to support design, production, and customer requirements.Develop and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) for projects.Collaborate with the Sales Team to provide drawings, models, and design clarifications for customers.Plan and execute daily CNC nesting for sheet cutting to maximize material utilization.Generate CNC milling programs in Mastercam and ensure proper implementation on the shop floor.Maintain structured documentation of drawings, BOMs, nesting files, and CNC programs.Ensure designs comply with manufacturing standards, safety, and quality requirements.Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve design or programming issues.Continuously improve design workflows, nesting efficiency, and CNC machining operations.

Qualifications

Education: Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production, or related field.Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/design environment (preferably heavy equipment or industrial machinery).Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (mandatory). Hands-on experience with Mastercam for CNC milling programming.Knowledge of CNC nesting and cutting plan optimization. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and machining processes.Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.Other Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.Good communication skills for cross-functional coordination. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
