Role: Head- Ecommerce Location: Mumbai Industry: Retail Position Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Job Description: As the Head of E-commerce, the candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive profitable online channel growth. This entails all aspects of the e-commerce business including customer offer and brand experience, commercial calendar, sales, digital platform, and digital development. Responsibilities and Duties: Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, and Digital teams to optimize website performance and maximize SEO effectiveness. Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing strategies to boost online revenue and profitability. Oversee all aspects of the online customer journey, including site navigation, content strategy, and promotional campaigns. Lead the development and continuous improvement of website functionality, navigation, and user interface to support e-commerce goals. Ensure seamless operation and performance of the website and all e-commerce platforms, including mobile apps and mobile web, with a focus on driving sales growth. Maintain high visual standards and operational efficiency across all digital channels to enhance user experience and brand consistency. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and exceptional customer service. Partner with department heads to align e-commerce initiatives with broader brand strategies and business objectives. Stay informed on industry best practices and provide strategic input on cross-functional projects to integrate e-commerce principles. Identify and explore new digital growth opportunities beyond current business models. Apply strong business acumen to prioritize high-impact initiatives and support data-driven decision-making. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and technologies that can enhance website performance. Build and lead a high-performing e-commerce team to execute creative and effective digital solutions. Drive integrated marketing campaigns aimed at increasing conversion rates, average order value, and margin performance across product categories. Manage digital marketing efforts including SEO, SEM, social media integration, and analytics to strengthen the company’s online presence. Own the P&L for the e-commerce business, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded. Design and deliver comprehensive MIS reports to track key performance metrics across all digital platforms and support strategic decision-making. Desired Experience: Post-Graduation in Marketing Prior experience of at least 15+ years total experience with a minimum of 5 years leadership experience in charge of the Ecomm channel Strong background in having worked at a well-known company, preferably in the Retail Sector Good understanding of industry practices and processes with great acumen to interpret and align to critical business strategy Experience in handling multiple teams Proven experience of working with multiple stakeholders Ability to analyze data and make decisions Show more Show less
