Head of Compliance

Currently we are hiring Head of Compliance for Housing Finance Industry.

Role: Compliance Head

Location: Mumbai – Lower Parel

Industry preferred: BFSI

Job Summary:

NHB

Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance Testing & Risk Management:

• Lead the design and execution of risk-based compliance testing plans to evaluate the effectiveness of policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Conduct thematic reviews and assessments of new products or business initiatives, ensuring alignment with

  NHB

  and other regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain detailed documentation and prepare comprehensive reports outlining test results, gaps, and remediation measures.

2. Regulatory Liaison & Reporting:

• Serve as the key point of contact for

  NHB

  ,

  RBI

  , and other financial regulators, providing timely responses to queries and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations.
• Manage preparation and submission of regulatory reports, including

  Risk-Based Supervision (RBS)

  and inspection requirements.
• Review and update compliance policies across housing finance operations to remain aligned with evolving regulatory norms.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance:

• Advise senior management and business units on compliance matters, regulatory risks, and process improvements.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve compliance breaches or risks and escalate significant findings to relevant governance committees.
• Drive a culture of compliance through strong collaboration with internal audit, risk, and business teams.

4. Policy Frameworks & Training:

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks and operational policies specifically designed for the housing finance sector.
• Coordinate training programs across departments to ensure widespread awareness of regulatory obligations, especially

  NHB

  and AML/KYC standards.

5. Reporting & Analytics:

• Consolidate compliance reports from branches and departments and present insights to senior management and the board.
• Monitor compliance dashboards and key risk indicators, identifying potential issues proactively and recommending mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Master of Commerce, or Company Secretary (CS).
• Professional certifications in

  Compliance

  ,

  Risk Management

  , or

  KYC/AML

  preferred.

Experience:

• Experience in Compliance, Risk, or Regulatory Affairs within the

  housing finance

  or

  banking/financial services

  industry.
• Demonstrated experience in dealing with

  NHB regulations

  , including inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of

  NHB

  , RBI, SEBI, FEMA, and other applicable financial regulatory frameworks.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to distill complex compliance matters for senior audiences.
