Job Summary:

Strategy & Process:

Define and implement best practices for hardware development processes, documentation, and quality assurance.

Conduct thorough Design Reviews (DRs) to mitigate technical risks and ensure design robustness.

Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM), identify critical supply chain risks, and find alternate components as necessary.

Leadership & Management:

Lead and mentor the hardware engineering team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and technically excellent culture.

Manage the team's workload, including resource allocation, task prioritization, and adherence to project timelines.

Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, software, and product management teams to ensure seamless product integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Design and develop high-density, high-efficiency power electronic converters, including AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters, as well as inverters and motor drives.
• Circuit Simulation and Analysis: Perform detailed circuit simulations and analyses using tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and PLECS to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.
• Component Selection and Magnetics Design: Select appropriate power semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN), passive components, and design custom magnetics (inductors, transformers).
• PCB Layout and Thermal Management: Oversee the layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for power electronic circuits, ensuring optimal placement for performance and thermal management. Design and implement effective thermal solutions.
• Control Systems Development: Develop and implement control algorithms for power converters and motor drives using microcontrollers, DSPs, or FPGAs.
• Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes to validate designs. Develop and execute test plans to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers. Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and test reports.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations for safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI).
