Role OverviewThe General Manager (GM) will be a key leader responsible for overseeing overall business operations, driving sales, managing teams, and implementing strategies to achieve organizational growth in the EdTech domain. The role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking, business acumen, people management, and operational execution.
The GM will directly contribute to revenue generation, market expansion, and institutional partnerships, while ensuring seamless day-to-day functioning across departments such as Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop and execute business strategies aligned with company vision and growth objectives.
Analyze market trends, competition, and industry insights to identify new opportunities.
Prepare annual/quarterly business plans and track progress against defined KPIs.
2. Business Development & Partnerships
Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, colleges, universities, and corporate partners.
Lead negotiations and close large-scale institutional deals to expand market presence.
Explore collaborations with EdTech partners, content providers, and technology vendors.
3. Operations & Process Management
Ensure smooth day-to-day business operations across sales, marketing, product, and support functions.
Establish effective systems and processes to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Monitor budgets, resource allocation, and operational expenses to maintain profitability.
4. Team Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
Set clear performance metrics, conduct reviews, and implement training and development plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
5. Sales & Revenue Management
Drive sales initiatives to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Monitor sales pipelines, conversion ratios, and customer acquisition costs.
Implement pricing strategies and revenue models suited for the education market.
6. Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and partners.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through excellent service delivery.
Address escalations, resolve issues promptly, and ensure long-term client loyalty.
7. Product & Service Enhancement
Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to align offerings with market needs.
Gather customer feedback and translate insights into product/service improvements.
Stay updated with the latest trends in EdTech and recommend innovative solutions.
8. Reporting & Compliance
Present regular reports on business performance, sales forecasts, and operational metrics to senior leadership.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Education, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership/managerial role.
Prior experience in the EdTech or education sector is strongly preferred.
