Role Overview

The General Manager – HR will be responsible for leading end-to-end Human Resource functions with a strong focus on doctors’ onboarding and recruitment, visiting consultants’ hiring, and strategic HR operations. This role requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in reputed hospitals or healthcare organizations, specializing in medical professionals’ recruitment, engagement, and retention.

The GM–HR will collaborate closely with senior leadership to design and implement HR policies, manage workforce strategies, and ensure compliance with healthcare HR standards (NABH, JCI, statutory norms).


Key Responsibilities

1. Doctor & Medical Professional Recruitment

  • Lead recruitment of full-time doctors across specialties (Oncology, Surgery, ICU, Emergency, OPD, etc.).
  • Build a strong pipeline of visiting consultants and senior medical professionals.
  • Apply headhunting and talent acquisition strategies to attract high-caliber doctors.
  • Drive credentialing, background checks, and onboarding compliance.

2. HR Operations & Policy Management

  • Oversee end-to-end HR operations, including payroll, attendance, compliance, and employee life cycle.
  • Develop and implement HR policies aligned with NABH 6th Edition and statutory regulations.
  • Manage workforce planning, manpower budgeting, and attrition control.
  • Conduct HR audits and maintain HR metrics and documentation.

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Develop and implement engagement initiatives for doctors and paramedical staff.
  • Address employee relations issues and maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Create growth and retention strategies for medical staff.

4. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Advise senior management on HR strategies and organizational development.
  • Lead talent acquisition for both clinical and non-clinical roles.
  • Design competitive compensation frameworks and benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with branding and communications teams to strengthen employer branding.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent.
  • 12–18 years of HR experience, including 7–10 years in hospital or healthcare HR leadership.
  • Proven experience in doctor recruitment and senior-level hiring.
  • Expertise in HR operations and compliance in large (100+ bedded) hospitals.
  • Sound understanding of NABH/JCI HR standards and labor laws.
