General Manager

Poonolil Silk Company, a renowned name in the textile retail industry, is looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead its flagship operations in Edappally. The GM will be responsible for the overall management of the retail store(s), focusing on sales performance, customer experience, team leadership, inventory control, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:Store Operations & Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail showroom.
• Ensure smooth coordination between sales, inventory, billing, and housekeeping teams.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the procurement team for replenishments.

Sales & Business Development

• Drive sales targets and monitor monthly and yearly business performance.
• Analyze customer buying patterns and market trends to strategize promotional activities.
• Develop and execute business growth plans for festive and seasonal campaigns.

Customer Experience

• Ensure high standards of customer service and in-store experience.
• Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Build and retain a loyal customer base through personalized service and relationship management.

Team Leadership

• Lead, train, and motivate the sales and support team to deliver peak performance.
• Conduct performance reviews and ensure proper staffing and shift planning.
• Implement staff incentive plans and training programs.

Inventory & Visual Merchandising

• Supervise inventory management and minimize stock loss or damages.
• Ensure visual merchandising aligns with brand standards and appeals to the target audience.

Finance & Reporting

• Maintain budgets, cost control, and financial reporting to management.
• Track and report on daily sales, footfall, and other KPIs.
• Coordinate with accounts for stock audits, vendor payments, and GST compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business, Retail Management, or Fashion/Textiles).
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in the textile or retail fashion industry, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
• Proven expertise in managing large-format showrooms or multi-floor retail outlets.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
• Familiarity with ERP or retail POS systems is a plus.
• Fluency in Malayalam and English is essential.
