Job Description

A freight forwarder sales executive is responsible for generating new business and managing client relationships within the freight forwarding industry. This role involves identifying potential clients, developing sales strategies, meeting sales targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving. Key responsibilities include prospecting for new clients, understanding their shipping needs, creating tailored solutions, coordinating with internal teams, and building long-term relationships. 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development: Identify and target potential customers for freight forwarding services. 

Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to build a strong sales pipeline and achieve revenue targets. 

Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, serving as a key point of contact. 

Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed sales targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 

Solution Development: Create and present tailored logistics solutions to clients, leveraging air, ocean, rail, and highway transportation. 

Service Delivery: Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction. 

Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify opportunities, assess competition, and stay updated on industry trends. 

Reporting and Analysis: Track and analyze sales data, prepare reports, and provide regular updates to management. 

CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client communications, and pipeline status in the CRM system. 

Problem-Solving: Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively, resolving any issues related to shipments. 

Required Skills:

Sales and Business Development:

Proven experience in sales, preferably within the freight forwarding industry. 

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams. 

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

Ability to identify and resolve issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions. 

Organizational Skills:

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple shipments and deadlines. 

Product Knowledge:

Familiarity with logistics software, international trade regulations, and customs requirements. 

Industry Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding processes, shipping routes, and market trends.
